Yesterday was the first day of summer,

and here in St. Augustine it was a perfect summer day-

    clear skies with occasional clouds,

    temps in the mid 80's,

    and a soft breeze.

Later the Full Moon rose large and bright  over the river or ocean or road,

    depending on where you were.

    A perfect day.

What I have been trying not to say out loud,

is that there are blessings or gifts hidden in tragedies,

and these gifts may not be obvious for some time to come,

    but they are there.

If we can make a commitment not to let the anger and helplessness

    allow us to disconnect,

and instead turn to our friends and families,

and really see them in that deep way that keeps love alive,

then that compassion spreads to our neighbors, and the person behind the counter,

and we become part of the force that moves us away from the madness,

and towards creating a loving and compassionate world.

Be gentle with each other and kind and open.

    Wouldn't it be great

    if,

    everyday

you realized that you are bursting with life?

That the packet of your body is loaded with energy,

and beauty and love and trust

    and an unstoppable urge

    to be alive

    and

    well

     and

    happy?

    Watch out world!

"Hey, you forgot to put the seed out.

I can see you in there. You forgot to put the seed out.

    Can I come in?

I bet I could find it and save you the trouble of carrying it outside.

I can see you – is that a cat in there? Is that you, Dj?

Hi Dj, can you get the bird seed?

Dj, can you hear me? I'm here, over here, by the door.

    Is somebody cooking?

    That smells good.

    I'm over here!

    Hey!"

    Stop! Look! Listen!

    Welcome to Laine's Blog

There is a school of thought that claims

that the heart is our real brain, and that a shift is taking place

in the universe. We are learning to think, see, and act, more with our hearts and

    less with our other brains.

At Laine's blog each weekday, you will find an original photograph or graphic

paired with words of wisdom or folly – all from the heart.

So, Stop! Look! and Listen! with your open heart and thanks for

    letting Laine share hers!

This was my very first post for Laine's Blog, Thinking Out Loud.

    Now it is the 1,000th!

    From October 2011 to today.

So the next few posts will be a trip (for me) down memory lane,

with reprinted posts from the past 4 years.

I hope you enjoy it, I know that I will!
