It's the birds' songs lately,

just before dawn (how do they know?)

that make me smile

and remind me of life's simplicity.

Then the ride over the river,

seeing the calm waters filling the marsh –

all of this soothing to the restless mind.

Deep breath in…

Deep breath out…

Ahhh, almost whole again.
