Budapest used to be two cities separated by the Duna, or what we call the Danube River.

Buda is on the hilly side of the river.

And Pest is on the plane and is the more modern section of Budapest.

This is the Palace in the hills.

And this is the famous Parliament building on the Pest side of the river.
